Solution Overview
Site maintenance workers now;
have an adequate tool to manage workload, and prepare for unforeseen complications
have clarity on the communication channels
can perform tasks that meets safe work conditions
can enable diagnosis of issues by viewing detail or maintenance histories
The web app solution ensures the workers can use this on the go, in the site or in the office by being available on various device sizes.
The Process
In a cross-functional team, I led the design thinking workshops to;
identify user personas behaviours, needs and frustrations
mapped out the current process for executing WO to understand areas where user has the most pain points which provided the most value add in terms of improving efficiency
The UI solutions were tested against the end-users to test the new digital process as well as other areas that we could work on prior to rolling the project out
Organisational Impact
The streamlined process empowers site maintenance workers with the tools and information they need to excel in their roles.
They are now better equipped to handle tasks with precision and foresight. Enhanced communication channels reduces misunderstanding and delay, tasks are performed under safe conditions and issues can be diagnosed using detailed maintenance histories.
Moreover, workers has flexibility to access critical information and perform their duties regardless of their location which led to efficient operations, higher productivity and a safer working environment, ultimately driving the organisation toward greater operational improvements.
